Have you found a rattlesnake on your property or in your home?  Licensed/insured rattlesnake removal by certified technicians is just a phone call away! 760-961-5980

Anyone can claim to be an “expert” or a “professional.”  Snake removal should only be performed by certified, licensed, and insured professionals, who are highly skilled and experienced in not only the use of the proper tools and follow safety procedures at all times, but never “free-handle” or “bare hand” venomous snakes.  Ever.  These are risky, careless, and highly dangerous behaviors that are never necessary.  Our certified technicians handle snakes with great care.  Please feel free to ask us for our Certificate of Insurance, we’re happy to provide it at your request.

β€œI would not call an unlicensed, unbonded, uninsured person to my house to remove a rattlesnake, because if that person gets bit, you’re going to own it. You’re going to get sued … Our recommendation is to go ahead and hire a permitted licensed bonded wildlife trapping type of a company”

FAQ: Snake Removal

Running a wildlife control business is expensive.

Arriving at your location to remove a snake is only the beginning!

Removal includes not only getting a snake safely and humanely contained, but an inspection around your home to be certain no other snakes are present, and advice on how to make your location less inviting to snakes.

The time and effort it takes to properly place snakes from populated areas into programs where they can be ambassadors of their species is time consuming.

Finding suitable release locations on large properties is no different. As much as we would like to be able to remove snakes at no cost, we cannot,

Providing this service is very costly, and places even the most experienced handler at a level of risk. Just like all professionals, our technicians work hard, and truly deserve to be compensated for providing a valuable service.
We normally have technicians on call 24/7 during our active "snake season." The time it takes to reach you will be based on your distance, if technicians are already on another call, and traffic. We do our best to get to you as quickly and as safely as we can.
Never. We believe strongly in the humane removal, handling, and conservation of all snakes.

Snakes play crucial roles in the environments they inhabit. All snakes are checked for health and dehydration. Snakes that have been stuck in enclosed spaces may be stressed, and very thirsty.

We may send snakes found in populated areas to a venom research center, place them in educational programs, or into dog avoidance training programs with people who are properly licensed to keep them.
Your safety, and that of your family and pets must come first. If outdoors, move children and pets indoors. A snake cannot cause harm unless approached! If you can safely keep a distance and keep an eye on the snake until we arrive, we have a much better chance of containing it, should it decide to move.

When we arrive, please give the technician plenty of space so removal can be done safely.

If the snake cannot be found after we dispatch a technician for removal, charges still apply.Β  For after-hours emergency service, prepayment will be required via credit or debit card before we will dispatch a technician.Β

It is unfortunate that we've had to take this step, but we have been left with the choice of either discontinuing snake removal services all together, or to institute a policy that addresses the (unfortunate) issues we've experienced on several occasions

Increased human encounters with snakes (including bites) are primarily caused by these issues.

  •  Inexperience:  People inexperienced with snakes encounter them when hiking, or around residences, and think they are fast enough to catch/kill a rattlesnake safely. Snakes have reflexes that are far faster than those of humans, and many venomous snake bites in the United States annually are directly due to intentional exposure to the snake, whether to catch it or to kill it.
  • Food and/or water:  Ground squirrels, rats, rabbits, mice, and artificial sources of water (water fountains, swimming pools, water dishes left for pets and/or wildlife) are major factors in attracting snakes.  This is a clear and constant invitation to all snakes. What snake doesn’t want to easily find a constant supply of food at an ” all-you-can-eat rodent buffet” or a nice long drink of water? Snakes go where food sources are, and if one is being provided, they’ll find it.
  • Shelter:  Piles of lumber scraps, brush, branches, old cars, overgrown weeds, rodent burrows, or general junk provide fantastic shelter for snakes.  Keeping firewood stacked off of the ground, shrubs trummed up from the ground, and keeping property cleared and rodent-free can go a long way in reducing encounters with snakes, but will not eliminate them.  We live in snake country!

What about dogs?

  • All dogs spending time outdoors should be rattlesnake avoidance trained. This is an inexpensive and highly effective way to keep dogs safe in rattlesnake country.   Veterinary bills for a bite are in the thousands of dollars, and not all dogs survive treatment.  Training a dog costs pennies when compared to the cost of emergency veterinary treatment, and all but eliminates a chance encounter with a rattlesnake-an agonizing (and often fatal) encounter.  Please note:  The “rattlesnake vaccine” is no longer recommended for dogs by veterinary experts.

All venomous species in our region are dangerous.   Handling even a dead snake can result in envenomation!
