Wild Pigs AKA Feral Hogs

Rooting damage from feral hogs wild pigs High Desert Wildlife Control

Are you dealing with damage caused by feral hogs in the Inland Empire of Southern California?  If you are, you aren’t alone.  High Desert Wildlife Control is here to assist you in stopping the lasting damage caused by invasive wild pigs, also known as      “four-legged rototillers.”

Feral pigs, also known as feral hogs, wild pigs, razorbacks, or feral swine, are an invasive species, introduced to North America.  Most wild pigs are descendants of the European wild boar.

California damage is estimated at $1.5 billion per year, and is rising.

California has the 4th largest feral hog population in the United States, and it’s growing every day.  If you’re currently experiencing a problem, do not wait.  While pigs might not be seen daily, once they’ve moved to an area with sufficient resources, they will not stop causing damage. Early intervention is very important!

The damage caused by feral swine to agriculture, businesses, residences, sensitive environmental habitats, native wild animals, state, regional, local parks, and school sports fields is astronomical.  There’s almost no place wild pigs can’t make themselves at home.  California is home to an estimated 400,000+ feral hogs, and the population is quickly escalating.  Plentiful food sources and rapidly increasing populations have created severe problems in much of the state.

What is the process?

If you are experiencing damage from feral hogs, we’re here to help you from beginning to end.  We can help you to apply for a depredation permit, a legal document required by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.  This document is necessary to address feral pig issues on private properties.  Removing these “rototillers on four legs” is the only way to stop the damage.  We work very hard to make sure pigs are treated humanely, and success takes time and careful planning.

We do not use poisons at any time.  Call 760-961-5980 to get started today!
