Pigeon Control and Other Pest Birds

We are certified structural bird control specialists, and provide pigeon trapping and  nuisance bird control.  We provide residential, commercial, and industrial cleanup services.  We practice only the highest industry standards in abatement. We use only high-quality products to keep your family safe and healthy while removing the health hazards left by feral pigeons, ravens, or other pest birds.  We guarantee our work.  Don’t trust just anyone with your pigeon infestation.  Too often, we’re called after a previous repair, cleanup, or exclusion wasn’t done correctly by an uninsured party.

We pride ourselves on our workmanship, and when we leave, our goal is that you never experience another bird problem.

Feral pigeons (also called rock doves, rock pigeons, city doves, city pigeons, or common pigeons) have become a regular sight and continue to spread in our High Desert region.  Pigeons are not native birds and carry numerous diseases and external parasites.  In addition, they create massive amounts of excrement.  Commercial crops, homes, barns, patio covers, attics, solar panels, and sheds are all favorable to feral pigeons.  Locally, they often find food on properties where livestock and poultry are kept and will use any source of water they can find.

Annually, pigeons cause over a billion dollars in property damage in the USA and are the #1 bird pest species worldwide.  Pigeons are labeled as an invasive species in North America by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Pigeon waste is particularly caustic and can damage (or even eat through) concrete, wood, stucco, roofing materials (including tile), and air conditioners, and can etch solar panels and remove car paint.  Property damage is far from the only concern regarding pigeons.

Pigeons are vectors (carriers) of over 60 diseases, many of which are transmissible to humans and other animals.  An infestation in the attic of a residence, or anywhere people live or frequent is a health hazard.  Some of these diseases can be fatal.  If overtaking a barn, for example, pigeons easily contaminate livestock feed, hay, and the soil wherever they leave droppings.

ZOONOSES: DISEASES THAT CAN SPREAD FROM ANIMALS TO PEOPLE.

Some diseases are Histoplasmosis, Psittacosis, Cryptococcosis, E. coli, and Salmonella.  They may also have other diseases such as Virulent Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza, which can quickly spread to other species of birds, especially poultry.  VND and avian flu are fatal diseases in poultry and are highly contagious.

Pigeons aren’t “clean nesters.” They will use the same nest repeatedly, without regard to cleanliness, and do not clean out the feces created by nestling birds.  Over time, pigeon nests can become hardened due to excrement, and they’ll build one flimsy nest on top of another.

Pigeons also carry numerous species of ectoparasites (parasitic insects that live on and feed on pigeons.)  Some of these (lice, mites, and flies) are transmissible to humans and other animals.  Ectoparasites can easily migrate from nesting areas such as attics, lofts, or loafing areas into homes, businesses, or areas where animals are kept.
